The Benefits of Electrical Cars and EV Charging Points

Today we’d like to talk to you about electrical cars and EV charging points. If you’ve not considered changing to an electric car yet, we’re hoping we can use this opportunity to convince you of its benefits. To start with they’re really cheap to run and need very little maintenance, as well as the fact that they’re great for the environment. There are also a variety of options available to charge your car, so if this was putting you off then you have nothing to worry about.

Why not have an EV Charger installed in your home?

You will have to pay to have an EV charger point installed in your home. However, you can get £500 off if you receive a grant from OLEV, or the Office for Low Emission Vehicles. After you’ve installed it you should find that charging your car is going to make running it much more budget friendly and cost much less than a conventional diesel car. Do consider the make of your car however, and the electric tariff in your home as this could have an impact on how much you pay. If you have a particular tariff that gives you more for your money, such as Economy 7 you may pay less for your electricity during off-peak times.

EV charging points at home - quicker, better, cheaper.

Another advantage is that home charge via an EV charging point is considerably quicker and far better than from the mains which can take longer. You’ll be pleased to know that it’s also much quicker than charging from a public charging point too, and the rapid charging points, where they’re provided, aren’t cheap either.

EV Charging Points in ever home.

The government has been planning to provide all newly built houses with an electric EV charging point, this would be a major change to current building regulations and help to encourage those who are on the fence about investing in an electric car. They’re also hoping to make sure that all public charging points accept both credit and debit cards.
